Ministry of Water Resources had designated Engineers India Limited as the nodal agency for Ganga river cleanup and at short notice EIL wanted a contractor to take up the work of river surface cleaning across five prominent towns – Varanasi, Kanpur, Allahabad, Mathura and Patna. We deployed five river surface trash skimmers within 30 days at each of these locations along with 10 workers for manual cleaning near the ghats and shoreline. The six month long cleanup on war footing was a huge success and was applauded publicly by then Hon’ble Minister Smt. Uma Bharti.
