Uttar Pradesh Irrigation purchased one IMS self propelled cutter suction dredge and one Ellicott 14×14 cutter suction dredge both from USA and gave us the responsibility for three year operation and maintenance. We supplied, installed and commissioned the IMS dredge at Lakhimpur district and the Ellicott dredge at Unnao, Kanpur. Thereafter, both departmental dredges were operated and maintained by our staff to cut 8-10km long channels in the river and diverted the flow thereby averting floods that had in the past breached the embankments on both sides and flooded neighbouring villages.
