Powai Lake is a popular high end residential area in Mumbai flanked by the IIT campus, the famous Renaissance Hotel and the upmarket Hiranandani Residential Complex. The lake was engulfed with aquatic weeds and algae that ultimately led to foul smell and a mosquito menace for the residents and walkers. We supplied an aquatic weed harvester to a local contractor who used the machine to clean up the lake. Floating fountains were also deployed for lake aeration. These two initiatives together led to significant improvement in water quality as well as the visual appeal of the lake.
