Indian Oil Corporation refinery at Guwahati draws water from the river for its cooling towers. However, the intake channel was totally silted up and the plant would have frequent shut downs as water was not available. We deployed a 20 ton amphibian excavator to desilt the intake channel of length approx. 5 km with a width of 10m and depth of 4-5m so that water was flowing perennially to the plant and there were no further plant outages
